It's Been A While

Wow! I just realized I have not been on here since last August. Holy smokes! I guess I will have to change that.

Abby is doing fantastic! She continues to amaze and suprise me with so many new things. Her latest is that she likes to sing the song "Another one bites the dust". It's flippin hilarious.

She now goes to school 5 days a week at 2 different schools and has adjusted perfectly to this. We started the second school in mid November and I think she might actually prefer that one now. Either way, both schools are great for her.

The Holidays have come and gone and now what is on my mind a lot these days is whether to give Abby a birthday party. We have done huge parties in the past as my husband's family is ginormous, and I'm just not too sure I want to go through all of that this year. But it's not for me, it's for Abby. So we'll see.

Abigail's diabetes update is also good. We saw the Dr. mid December and her A1C was down from the last visit. That was awesome news. They also drew blood to check for other diseases that can be associated with diabetes and I got the call yesterday that everything on that front was normal. Thank goodness.

I might not blog everyday, but I sure do make scrap pages. Included here are a few more that I have done of my sweet little girl. Bless her heart!

With it being Friday afternoon, Abby has now completed her first week of her second year of preschool. I must say that it was a really successful week. She loved it and told me several times that she needed to go back to school after I picked her up. There are new kids in her class and she knows a lot of their names already. I was a little worried with there being a summer break and all, but she has picked up right where she left off. I drop her off and she goes right to the classroom and starts playing and doesn't cling to my leg or cry. She sure has grown a lot in the past year. I really like her school and all the staff there. I don't think I could have picked a better place. My only wish would be that they were able to accomadate her diabetes and that she could be there longer hours. But in the meantime, it is a great fit and she just absolutely loves it. I sure hope that her love of school continues and that as she gets older she doesn't get distracted by those pesky boys and that she chooses to make the right decisions in regards to her education.
Of course, I took photos on the first day of school and here are some pages I created.

Here is to a great school year!

Way Too Long!

It has been way too long since I last had a post here. It just seems like life gets going and there isn't enough time to get every thing done. But then when I look at the last few months, I can't say that there isn't much that I have accomplished.

We had a great summer this year and Abby is getting so big, so fast. We spent our Tuesday going to the Summer Movies and it turned out to be a blast. I was a little apprehensive about doing it as I just didn't know how she would react and if we would be kicked out. Fortunately that did not happen. We didn't have to leave any of the movies early and there were some movies that Abby actually liked and sat and watched. But most of the time, she walked up and down the aisle and I can't even begin to think of how many times I had to tell her to be quiet and to use her indoor voice.

We also spent a lot of time in the pool. Abigail LOVES the water! In the begining, Abby was still using her swimming tube, but within a few short weeks she was up to just swimming with her floaties. She is learning to kick and move her arms but it is clear she does not like to go under water.

Abby has started her second year of preschool and she's now going 3 days a week. So far each day when I have picked her up, she has told me that she needs to go back to school.I sure hope that her love and desire for school continues throughout her education and that she remains focused on getting a great education. I hope she finds a passion and loves everything she does.

My 40th birthday is right around the corner and I just don't know how I feel about it. Part of me sees it as no big deal, and another part of me sees it as such a waste. I had always thought that by the time I was 40, things would be so different. I never dreamed that I would be living in Arizona with my mother, husband, and baby girl. It's such a weird dynamic of people living in this house. I know my mom needs me and my next chapter will just have to wait a little bit longer.

Here are some fun pages I did of our summer. Enjoy!

Some Scrapbook Pages

We took Abby to the County Fair over the weekend and she loved it. Anytime she sees lots of flashing lights she calls it the Christmas lights. It sure isn't Christmas time here in Arizona, but the fair lights were pretty cool.

Abby is still a bit too short to ride most of the rides at the fair. Requirements are that kids be at least 36 inches tall. She is 35 and 3/4. Almost there! So instead we came across some ponies and she loved it. She rode her pony like she had been doing it for years. She was never afraid and in fact was smiling and giggling and enjoying every second of it. Here is a scrapbook page I made of her riding the pony.

Other than that, not a lot else is going on. Her 3rd birthday is less than a week away and I am doing a Strawberry Shortcake theme. She just loves her Strawberry Shortcake. I am also doing a craft make and take for the kids and the adults too if they would like to participate. I am looking forward to celebrating her life with family friends, but I am also looking forward to Sunday. The day after.

I haven't posted in a while

It seems like I have been so busy lately, but when I think of what I have done, I can't account for anything. I guess it's just life.

I did work on Abigail's bedroom this weekend. The clutter was getting to me. I was able to get rid of some toys that she no longer plays with and was able to eliminate the buckets that were spilling over with toys. I bought her a cube organizer for her room so that we can store toys and keep everything hidden. It looks SO much better and there is a lot more room for her to play. Our next big step will be getting rid of her rocking chair. She still likes to "rock with mommy" so that might be a bit tramatic for her so I think I'll wait a bit on that one.

Today I got her preschool photos. They are amazing. Certainly will not make Ellen's list of Bad Paid for School Photos. Hers are adorable.

O What a Night!

As I sit here to write this it is 3:15 in the morning. I am not up by choice, but rather because Abby is sick. She has a stuffy nose and is sneezing with lots of "yucky boogers" as she calls it. Trying to comfort her and get her to fall asleep has not worked for the past 2 hours. So I stay awake as she is in her room hopefully falling asleep.
Andrew has to get up for work at 4 am so I figure I may as well stay awake until then. I just know that when the alarm goes off, will be just when I drift back into a peaceful sleep. Hopefully Abby will be able to sleep in and not wake up at her normal time.
Other than that, there really isn't a whole lot of new stuff going on. I have been really getting into my digital scrapbooking stuff and have created lots of neat pages of Abby. It's almost as if I have become obsessed with scrapbooking and find that it can occupy any free minute that I have. I have posted some of my recent pages of my sweet little girl.
Finally at 3:30 am, I think she is asleep. Thank Goodness and good night all!

An Evening Bike Ride

Seems like the weather has been perfect the last few days and we have definitely been taking advantage of it. The other night we went for a short bike ride around the neighborhood with Abigail in her "chariot". She just loves riding with us, but even more so she loves to wear her bike helmet. So much so that she threw a fit when it was time to take it off. For a little girl who hated wearing hats, she sure seems to like them now. Silly little thing!
